Replacement Parts Supply

Compatible spare parts for other planetary roller extruders

Takımsan has manufactured dimensionally and functionally compatible spare parts for planetary roller extruder lines from other manufacturers since the 1990s. The same precision manufacturing capability that produces PLATEX by Takımsan OEM extruders supports a separate supply line for operators of other planetary roller extruder installations worldwide — particularly across Europe, MENA and Asia.

This is a replacement parts business. What Takımsan provides is dimensional and functional replacement parts produced to customer drawings, customer samples, or OEM specifications — supported by 45 years of cutting tool and gear manufacturing experience, including 30+ years of planetary spindle production, in our İstanbul facility.

Parts are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015-certified processes. Material certificates, dimensional inspection reports and heat treatment records accompany each delivery.

Supply rationale

Why operators source spare parts from Takımsan

Lead time alternative to OEM

OEM spare parts for planetary roller extruders typically ship in 8–16 weeks, with longer lead times for hardened spindles and barrels requiring specialised production runs (Estimated, based on industry patterns). Takımsan ships dimensionally compatible replacements typically within 4–8 weeks of drawing or sample confirmation, depending on part complexity and hardening process requirements. For operators whose production line is down, the difference between 8 weeks and 16 weeks is material.

Capacity preservation during OEM constraints

When OEM production capacity is constrained — by order book backlog, raw material shortages, or geographic supply chain disruption — Takımsan provides an alternative supply route. Operators in time-critical situations: a production line down, a contract delivery deadline at risk, a planned annual overhaul requiring parts on a fixed schedule. Supply redundancy in the spare parts chain reduces single-source dependency without replacing the OEM relationship.

Cost differential

Takımsan replacement parts are typically priced 30–50% below comparable OEM parts (Estimated; varies by part complexity and order quantity). The differential reflects Turkish manufacturing economy and direct factory pricing — not reduced material or process specification. Sun spindles, satellite rollers and planet barrels are manufactured to the same material grades, nitriding depth and dimensional tolerances as the OEM specification. Material certificates and hardness testing records are supplied with each delivery to verify specification compliance.

Geographic proximity for European customers

İstanbul, Türkiye to most of continental Europe is 3–7 days by road freight. For operators in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the UK, and other European markets, this compares favourably with Western European OEM logistics on standard spare parts orders — and significantly favourably when OEM lead times extend into multi-month production queues. Air freight from İstanbul to European hubs is typically next-day for emergency shipments.

What Takımsan manufactures for other planetary roller extruder systems

The following categories cover the principal wear and replacement components for planetary roller extruder systems from other manufacturers. Parts are manufactured to customer drawings, verified samples, or OEM-published specifications, across common barrel diameters.

Sun spindles (main planetary screws)

Central drive spindles with 45° helical thread profile. Manufactured across common barrel diameters from 70 mm to 220 mm. Material: nitrided case-hardened steel. Surface hardness HV 950–1100 nitrided case typical. Tolerance: ±0.05 mm on critical outer diameter and helix pitch dimensions. Manufacturing route: drawing-based or sample-based reverse engineering.

Lead time (drawing-based): 4–6 weeks

Satellite rollers (planetary screws)

Satellite rollers for standard 6, 7, 10 and 12-roller planetary group configurations. Helical thread matched to 45° standard geometry. Same material and hardness specification as sun spindle — contact tolerance requires matched hardness across the rolling pair. Critical fit dimension tolerance verified on each batch by dimensional inspection. Satellite sets supplied as matched groups to ensure uniform planetary group loading.

Lead time (sample-based): 6–8 weeks

Planet barrels (cylinder housings)

Internal helical surface barrel sections for planetary roller extruder systems. Internal bore hardened and nitrided to match OEM surface treatment specification. Cooling and heating bore configurations matched to OEM specification — barrel section replacement requires matching the heater band pad pattern and coolant channel layout of the original. Dimensional inspection report on bore diameter and helix profile supplied with each barrel.

Lead time: 6–10 weeks depending on diameter and configuration

Granulation heads and die plates

Die-face pelletising heads and strand die plates matched to discharge configurations of existing machines. Cutter assemblies for under-water and hot-face granulation. Die plate aperture pattern and bolt circle dimensions matched to customer drawing or sample. Wear-resistant insert grades available for high-filled compounds where standard die plate wear life is uneconomical.

Lead time: 3–5 weeks

How Takımsan ensures compatibility

Three routes depending on what documentation the operator has available. All three routes produce parts supported by dimensional inspection reports and material certificates.

1

Customer drawing-based manufacturing

Operators with technical documentation provide drawings or 3D models. Takımsan engineers review for manufacturability, confirm material and tolerance specifications, and produce parts to drawing. This is the most accurate route — dimensional match guaranteed to drawing specification. DXF, DWG, STEP and PDF drawing formats accepted.

Typical timeline

4–6 weeks production after drawing approval

2

Sample-based reverse engineering

Operators without drawings ship the worn or replacement-target part to Takımsan. Engineers measure critical dimensions with coordinate measuring equipment, document hardness and surface treatment via metallurgical testing, and produce a manufacturing drawing for internal use. New parts are manufactured to this verified drawing. The original sample is returned to the customer with the new parts.

Typical timeline

6–8 weeks (measurement + drawing + production)

3

OEM specification reference

For standardised parts where OEM specifications are publicly documented — heater band electrical specifications, standard bearing references, seal cross-sections — Takımsan manufactures to those published specifications without requiring a customer sample. Applicable primarily to consumable and electrical components where the specification is self-contained in the OEM documentation.

Typical timeline

3–5 weeks

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Will using Takımsan parts affect my OEM warranty?

Manufacturer warranty terms vary by purchase contract and should be reviewed with your OEM supplier. Generally, use of non-OEM spare parts may affect warranty coverage on the replaced component but does not necessarily void warranty on unrelated components. This is a legal and contractual question — consult your purchase documentation. Takımsan parts are manufactured to match OEM dimensional and functional specifications, supported by ISO 9001:2015 quality management.

How do you ensure dimensional compatibility without OEM drawings?

Through sample-based reverse engineering. The worn or replacement-target part is shipped to Takımsan. Engineers measure critical dimensions with coordinate measuring equipment, document hardness and surface treatment via metallurgical testing, and produce a manufacturing drawing for internal use. New parts are manufactured to this verified drawing. The original sample is returned to the customer with the new parts.

What warranty do Takımsan replacement parts carry?

Takımsan provides a defect warranty on manufactured parts — typical 12 months or 4,000 operating hours, whichever occurs first (Estimated standard terms; specific warranty terms confirmed in each quotation). Defects in material or workmanship are remedied by replacement at no charge. Wear from normal operation in the specified application is not a warranty event.

Can Takımsan supply parts urgently — under 4 weeks?

Emergency production is occasionally possible for critical parts when machining and hardening capacity allows. Lead times under 4 weeks are exceptional and depend on part complexity, material availability, and current production scheduling. Contact the Takımsan team with your urgency and part details — we will confirm feasibility within 1–2 business days.

Do you ship globally?

Yes. Takımsan ships to operators in 40+ countries across five continents. Standard Incoterms supported: EXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, DAP. Customs documentation and material certificates are provided as required for the destination country.

Can I receive references from other operators sourcing from Takımsan?

Customer identification is subject to confidentiality commitments. References for qualified procurement contacts are available on request under mutual NDA. Takımsan has supplied compatible parts to planetary roller extruder operators globally since the 1990s — the supply relationship is long-standing.

Can Takımsan service or retrofit my existing planetary roller extruder?

Takımsan does not provide service or retrofit work on other manufacturers' machines. Mechanical service should be performed by the OEM or its authorised service partners. Takımsan supplies dimensionally compatible replacement parts; installation is the operator's responsibility, performed by their own maintenance team or their chosen service contractor.
